Thinking of joining me on a group adventure? Whether its a hike, camping trip, paddle boarding or something else, you are always welcome! This post breaks down what you can expect from me, and what I expect of you - I promise it's not to complex
What You Can Expect From Me;
I am not a guide, I am a fellow hiker
I want to be clear - these group hikes aren’t guided tours. They’re public invites to get outside together. I’m not a certified guide, but I do my homework and typically plan outings to places I’ve been before. So while I’m familiar with the terrain, I’m out there adventuring right alongside you.
Location knowledge
I do my best to pick trails that are enjoyable, scenic, and suit the vibe of the group. I will always forewarn whether the hike is rated Hard, Moderate or Easy. Working in healthcare means I stay calm in emergencies and know how to help if something goes sideways. Safety and support are always part of the plan!
photos?! Always.
You are likely here because of social media to some degree - I do love to take photos and short videos while out on adventures! I am always happy to share the photos I take with you, and if you ever do not want to be photographed - just let me know! However, I do love at least one group photo per event!!
How i hike
I am not a fast hiker, but I don't feel overly slow either - I would say I am pretty moderate! In smaller groups it is easier to keep pace with everyone, but larger groups seem to break off into smaller groups of fast, moderate and slow hikers! I am always happy to take a break, and I always like to ensure everyone makes it back to their car safely!
keeping the vibes
If something doesn't feel right, let me know! Turning back is always an option if something just doesn't feel right - you know that gut feeling?! These events are low pressure and no judgement! We are all outside to have a good time!
What I Expect From You;
Respect
Not just to me, or others on the trail - but nature as well. Leave no trace!
Let me know if you can no longer make an event and try to be on time (I only give a 15 minute grace period)
Preparedness
These are self supported events!! Bring the gear you will need for the event. Some key items; bear spray, water, snacks, proper footwear.
Do your own research! I try to share as much as I can, and am happy to answer questions but you should be reading up on trail reports and other information to make sure it is the right event for you!
Extrovert, or introvert - you are in the right place
Whether you are coming on a hike to get outdoors, make a new friend or check a hike off your list you are welcome to join! You don't have to be an extrovert, sometimes the groups do get a little large - but if you want to hike your own hike in silence, or just chill with that extra comfort that others are around, you are still in the right place!!
Communication
Speak up, Reach out! Whether you are nervous, something feels off, or you have questions - let me know!!!

Questions, Comments, Concerns;

If you have been on one of my group events previously, I would LOVE to hear your feedback - good or bad!
If you still have questions about joining a group event - let me know!
Anything else - I would love to chat!
These group events have become one of my favorite ways to connect with outdoorsy folks who just want to get out and breathe fresh air. You don’t need to be the fastest, fittest, or most experienced - just bring your good energy and love for nature.
